Business Insights Explorer offers various ways to filter the data that displays in the Data View grid. Data for each view can be filtered by any column except for calculated fields. Multiple filters can be applied to any view. Filters that are created while in a view can be saved to a setting, so that when you open the view with the saved setting, the filters will be in effect.

Note A column does not need to be displayed in the Data View grid in order to be used in a filter.

To filter data

  1. Select Business Insights Explorer menu, and then select a view.

  2. In the Business Insights Explorer window you can filter data in the Data View grid using any of the following methods:

Note If the Filter panel is not visible below the Data View grid, click the Filter Panel button.

Note You can click any area of the filter equation at any time to change a value.

The data in the Data View grid is filtered.

To remove a filter, click the Remove Filter button on the Business Insights Explorer toolbar.

To apply or clear a filter in the Data View grid, click the Toggle Filter button on the Business Insights Explorer toolbar. Clicking the Toggle Filter button does not remove the filter, but only clears the filter until it is applied again. You can also clear the check box for the filter in the Filter panel to apply or clear a filter.
