Business Insights Explorer offers various ways to filter the data that displays in the Data View grid. Data for each view can be filtered by any column except for calculated fields. Multiple filters can be applied to any view. Filters that are created while in a view can be saved to a setting, so that when you open the view with the saved setting, the filters will be in effect.
Note A column does not need to be displayed in the Data View grid in order to be used in a filter.
To filter data

Select Business Insights Explorer menu, and then select a view.

In the Business Insights Explorer window you can filter data in the Data View grid using any of the following methods:

Select the drop-down arrow in a column header in the Data View grid, and then select a data element.

Select a data element directly in the Data View grid, and then click the Filter by Selection button on the Business Insights Explorer toolbar.

Select the drop-down arrow in a column header in the Data View grid, and then select (Custom…). In the Custom Filter window, define single-level filter equations or groups of equations.

In the Filter panel located below the Data View grid, click Filter Builder. Use the Filter Builder window to create multi-level filter equations.
Note If the Filter panel is not visible below the Data View grid, click the Filter Panel button.

Use the Click this Button to Add a New Condition button to start building the first filter equation or Click Filter to add a condition or group of equations.

In the first field of the equation, select the column name (for example, Div). For more information, see Filter Builder - Fields.

In the operand field, select the operand to use.

In the filter parameter field, enter the value or values to apply against the column.
Note You can click any area of the filter equation at any time to change a value.
The data in the Data View grid is filtered.
To remove a filter, click the Remove Filter button on the Business Insights Explorer toolbar.
To apply or clear a filter in the Data View grid, click the Toggle Filter button on the Business Insights Explorer toolbar. Clicking the Toggle Filter button does not remove the filter, but only clears the filter until it is applied again. You can also clear the check box for the filter in the Filter panel to apply or clear a filter.
