Expand/Collapse item  Recommended Actions for Purchase Orders

  • Pull in: A pull in recommendation action occurs for a purchase order supply when there is a demand with a required date prior to the purchase order supply required date.

  • Push out: A push out recommendation action on the supply occurs if the purchase order supply required date is prior to the demand required date.

  • Unneeded: There is no demand and/or supply on hand.

  • Cnt Resc: The Cnt Resc message appears for parent items on a purchase order. A purchase order cannot be resc heduled if the Reschedule check box in the Additional Data Entry Fields dialog box in Purchase Order Entry is cleared.

  • Move Out: A recommendation that occurs on a demand (sales order, projected demand, inventory reorder) when the supply (work order or purchase order) cannot be rescheduled to fill the demand.

The creation of purchase orders must be performed manually.

Expand/Collapse item  Recommended Actions for Work Orders

Recommended actions for work orders are as follows:

  • Pull in: A pull in recommendation action occurs for a work order supply when there is a demand with a required date prior to the work order supply required date.

  • Push out: A push out recommendation action on the supply occurs if the work order supply required date is prior to the demand required date.

  • Resched: The Demand required date has changed (work order must be rescheduled). If the Explode Qty Change and Reschedule Recommendations check box is selected in the MRP Options window, the parent item and lower-level subassemblies also receive the Resched action. If the check box is cleared, only the parent item receives the Resched action.

  • Cnt Resc: The Cnt Resc message appears for the parent item for the work order. The work order cannot be resc heduled under the following conditions:

    • Either the Push out Work Orders check box or the Pull in Work Orders check box in the MRP Options window is cleared.

    • The work order has a status of Released.

  • Move Out: A recommendation that occurs on a demand (sales order, projected demand, inventory reorder) when the supply (work order or purchase order) cannot be rescheduled to fill the demand.

    Note:
To receive a Move Out action on a demand when the supply is a work order, the Pull in Work Orders and Push out Work Orders check boxes must be cleared in the MRP Options window (for Firm-Planned status), or the work order must have a Released status.

  • Quantity Change: If the sales order quantity has been increased, the work order has a Firm-Planned status, and the Explode Qty Change and Reschedule Recommendations check box is selected in the MRP Options window, the parent and subassemblies will be recalculated. If the check box is cleared, only the parent will be recalculated.

These work order recommendations, and the creation of work orders for "make" items, can be performed automatically using Auto Generate Work Orders.
