Text
Type the text for the control. To specify a hot key for the control, place an ampersand (&) in front of the letter in the Text field to designate as the hot key. Click Hot Key to select the hot key in the text string.
Note Be careful to not assign a hot key that is already assigned to another control on the form.

Bitmap
Select an image to display with the control or click the Bitmap Selector button to open the Bitmap Selection window. A selection of standard bitmap images is provided; the images provided are fixed and cannot be changed. At the Bitmap Position field, click the right or left arrow button to place the image to the right or left of the text.
Status Message
Type the status message to appear in the status bar.
Note This field may only be available for some modules.
Select a vendor type.
Tool Tip
Type the tool tip to appear when the mouse pointer is placed over the control.
Help Code
Assign a help code to specify the help text to display for the control. The code must be numeric and preceded by a pound (#) sign.

2. Link Settings
Select the type of link control to add (DDE, Dialog, Image, MS Script, Multimedia, or Program).
Enter the appropriate path and file name for the link control. Click the Browse Files button to select a file. For a DDE link type, you must enter a valid text file in this field.

Select this check box to display a multimedia control (.avi) directly on the panel. Select a frame from the drop-down list. The movie or image will appear within the borders of the selected frame. You should create a new frame for this purpose. This field is available only if Multimedia is selected in the Type field.
Select the alignment position for the image:
Select Align Top-Left to align the image to the upper left corner of the frame.
Select Center/Crop to center the image within the frame and crop it as necessary.
Select Stretch to Fit to stretch the image to display in the frame.
Select Tile to repeat the image until the entire frame is covered.
Select Attach to Frame to select a frame to attach the image to.
This field is available only if Image is selected in the Type field.
Enter the width and height of the frame that the image will appear in. Select the Auto Size check box to size the frame automatically. This field is available only if Image is selected in the Type field.
This list box displays all variables that will be passed to the script. For modules other than Job Cost, Material Requirements Planning, Payroll, TimeCard, and Work Order, variables are based on the business object and column name. For the Job Cost, Material Requirements Planning, Payroll, TimeCard, and Work Order modules, variables are based on the control names in the customized library. Click Select Variables to be Passed to Script to select variables in the MS Script Variable Selection window.
Click the Return check box to return a value. The Return check box is available only if the variable is not read-only.

Select the module to link to. You can create links to Sage 100 modules or to external programs. This field is available only if Program is selected in the Type field.
Select the task from the Sage 100 module you are linking to. This field is available only if Program is selected at the Type field.
Enter the appropriate path and program name for the link. Click the File button to select a file. This field is available only if Program is selected in the Type field.
This list box lists dialog link controls. This list box is available only if Dialog is selected in the Type field.
Select the appropriate scripting language. Supported languages are VBScript, JScript, and PvxScript. This field is available only if MS Script is selected in the Type field. Scripting is available only if the MS Windows Script Host processor is installed. In addition, PvxScript is available only if the Object Interface Key is entered in System Configuration.
Select the Execute Script on Client or Execute Script on Server option to execute the script on the client workstation or the Sage 100 Advanced host server in a Sage 100 Advanced environment. This field is available only if MS Script is selected in the Type field.
3. Options
Column
Type the column position for the control. The column position is based on the number of columns from the left. To display columns, on the Customizer toolbar, click the Toggle Grid On/Off button.
Row
Enter the row position for the control. The row position is based on the number of rows from the top. To display rows, on the Customizer toolbar, click the Toggle Grid On/Off button.
Width
Type the width of the control.
Height
Type the height of the control.
Resize
Select how the object is handled when resizing the window.
Select Fixed if you want the object’s position to remain fixed relative to the selected point in the Anchored field.
- Select Auto if you want the object’s position to change based on window resizing.
This field is available only for windows that can be resized.
Anchored
Select an anchor point that will determine the object’s position when the window is resized. This field is available only for windows that can be resized and if Fixed is selected in the Resize field.
Tab Stop
Select this check box to include the control in the forms tab sequence. Clear this check box if you do not want to include the control.
Hidden
Select this check box to prevent the control from appearing on the form. Clear this check box if you want the control to appear on the form.
