You can create a new standard journal by copying information from an existing standard journal. You can also copy information from an existing standard journal to the current standard journal entry and modify the description if necessary. In addition, you can copy comments from the existing standard journal to the current standard journal entry.

To copy a standard journal

  1. Select General Ledger Main menu > General Journal Entry.

  2. In the Source Journal field, select a source journal code. For more information, see General Journal Entry - Fields.

  3. Click Copy Standard. In the Copy Standard Journal window, in the Standard Journal field, type a standard journal number. For more information, see Copy Standard Journal - Fields.

Note If you type an existing standard journal number, a message displays to indicate that the standard journal already exists.

  1. In the Copy From field, select an existing standard journal to copy from.

  2. In the Description field, type a description of the existing standard journal selected.

  3. If you do not want to copy comments from the existing standard journal to the current standard journal, clear the Copy Comments check box, and click OK.

Information from an existing standard journal is copied to the current standard journal.
