Device Configurator automatically sets the SPCOLS and CPCOLS modes. These modes are set according to the selection in the Printer Type field in Device Configurator. Adhere to the following procedure when manually setting SPCOLS and CPCOLS to prevent the manual settings from being overwritten

To define SPCOLS/CPCOLS Modes

The following table shows the default settings for these modes.

Note SPCOLS and CPCOLS cannot be set manually during the initial creation of a device code; you must first save the device code, and then set the SPCOLS and CPCOLS modes.

  1. Select Library Master Setup menu > Device Configurator.

  2. Define the new device code. For more information, see Device Configurator - Fields.

  3. Click Accept.

  4. Select the device code defined in step 2.

  5. Click Modes.

  6. In the Maintain Device Modes window, change the mode values as you would for an existing device. For more information, see Maintain Device Modes - Fields.

  1. Do not change the Printer Type field in Device Configurator while manually setting SPCOLS and CPCOLS. Changing the printer type causes the modes to be overwritten when the Accept button is clicked.

  2. Do not change the Printer Type field in Device Configurator after manually setting SPCOLS and CPCOLS. Changing the printer type causes the modes to be overwritten when the Accept button is clicked.

The SPCOLS and CPCOLS modes are set.
