This task is available only if the Work Order module is integrated with MRP.

Overview

Use Auto Generate Work Orders to use information from MRP Generation to create a work order and then increase a firm-planned work order's planned quantity if the demand from the sales order is increased.

Auto Generate Work Orders supports multiple work orders for a given sales order. This occurs when a quantity change (increase) is performed based on a sales order and the existing work order to supply the initial demand is released. If the quantity on the sales order has decreased, MRP will consider the overage as a completion to inventory and will supply future demands.

Note The system does not check whether the Inactive Item check box in Item Maintenance is selected for items included on orders created using this task.
