Effective Date

Type the effective date to include all engineering changes made through the specified date. This field is available only if the Bill of Materials module is integrated with MRP and the Enable Engineering Change Control check box is selected in the Bill of Materials Options window. If Base Effective Date on Demand Release Date is selected in MRP Options, this field will not be displayed and bill components will be generated based on the proposed release date of the bill.

Default Build/Lead Time (Days)

Type the default number of days to be used as build/lead time if a vendor's lead time for an item is zero or blank for the primary vendor in the Item Maintenance vendors window. Build time is the number of days to build a product from its components. MRP gets this value from the primary vendor's lead time in Item Maintenance. If the lead time is zero or blank, the default entered in this field is used. Lead time is the time to acquire the material from the vendor. This value comes from the same field as the build time but it is used in conjunction with raw materials.

Advanced Arrival Allowance (Days)

Type a default number of days to prevent MRP Generation from creating an action of "Push-out" for purchase orders or work orders that have a required date that precedes the demand required date. The action of "Push-out" is suppressed when the difference between the supply date and demand required date is greater than the number of days specified in this field.

To allow time for unpacking and placing the items in a warehouse, a purchasing agent may want to have parts arrive two days prior to the time that they are required for production. Because the required date for the purchase order precedes the required date for production, the system may recommend that you push out the purchase order by two days. If this was a common practice and there were many parts and purchase orders, the number of suggested actions would be overwhelming. When running the MRP Generation process, you can enter a default number of days in the Advanced Arrival Allowance (Days) field that prevents the system from making push-out suggestions if the required date is within the number of days specified.

Sales Order Cutoff

Type the date after which MRP will disregard all sales orders. Entering a date in this field indicates to the system to disregard any sales order line items with a promise date past the cutoff date.

Projected Demand Start Date

Type the date before which MRP will not include all projected demands. These demands occur on the first of the month for the monthly demands, and on the Friday of the week for the weekly demands. If the sales order dates overlap with these dates, MRP considers the sales order quantities as part of the projected demands quantities.
