Job Name

This field displays the name of the job, and can only be viewed.

Perform Type

Select a perform type to use when the instructions in the command field are performed.

Select On Execution to perform the command when the job is started.

Select On Completion to perform the command when the job is finished.

Select Before Write to perform the command before writing a specific record type.

Select After Write to perform the command after writing a specific record type.

Select Before Assign to perform the command before the assignment of a data field.

Select After Assign to perform the command after the assignment of a data field.

File Type

Select the file type.

Table Name

Select the table containing the field to use for an assign perform. This field is available only if Before Assign or After Assign is selected in the Perform Type field.

Column Name

Select the column to use for an assign perform. This field is available only if Before Assign or After Assign is selected in the Perform Type field.

Sequence

Type a sequence number to specify in what order the perform will be executed. Type 1 if the job has only one perform assigned to it. Do not type 0 (zero).

Command

Type the command to perform. A command can be an executable file or a ProvideX file name followed optionally by an entry label.

Click Defaults to load a perform associated with the primary table for the job. Click the Existing Perform Lookup button to list performs that have already been defined for the current job.
