Establishing Standard Operation Codes

To establish a standard set of operation codes for use by all work centers, first establish a default or master work center (for example, STND or MAST) and define all the operation codes for that work center. The Copy button can be used to copy these standard operation codes whenever a new operation code is created for a work center. This method is especially useful if the same rates and general ledger accounts are used for each operation code, regardless of the work center.

In the examples above, numeric codes are used for all operation codes. Note that the same operation codes are used with different descriptions for different work centers. You can also choose to use unique alphanumeric codes for an operation and then use the same codes for multiple work centers.
