Material Issue Transactions

Use the material issue transaction to record the issue of component inventory items from the warehouse to the shop for individual work orders. This transaction type can also be used to record unplanned items and replacement parts when a component is scrapped. Material issues cannot be used for issuing noninventory special items. Special items are issued using the miscellaneous material charge transaction. Material issue transactions can be recorded only for released work orders.

Material transactions can be generated automatically when work orders are released, based on selections made in the Work Order Entry window.

If Automatic is selected in the Issue Method field on the Work Order Entry Header tab and Yes or Available Quantity Only is selected in the Auto Issue Material field on the Work Order Entry Additional tab, material issues are generated automatically for work orders at the time of their release.

If Backflush is selected in the Issue Method field on the Work Order Entry Header tab and Yes or Available Quantity Only is selected in the Auto Issue Material field on the Work Order Entry Additional tab, material issues are generated automatically for work orders at the time of their completion.
