After a user-defined field (UDF) is defined, you can add it to a panel. UDFs can be added only to panels that accommodate UDFs. In some modules, you can also add UDFs to grids and list boxes.

You can also add UDFs to eBusiness Manager Web templates and SAP Crystal Reports documents. For more information about adding UDFs in eBusiness Manager, see Adding Fields to a Template. To add a UDF to SAP Crystal Reports documents, see Add a User-Defined Field (UDF) to a Crystal Report.

In some modules, you can add both standard fields and UDFs to panels.

Note Panels in the Customer Relationship Management module cannot be customized, and UDFs cannot be created for Customer Relationship Management tables.

Before You Begin

• Before you can add a UDF to a panel, you must create the UDF. For more information, see Create a User-Defined Field (UDF).

• UDFs can be added only to panels that support UDFs. For more information, see Customizer FAQs.

 

Add a UDF to a panel for modules other than Material Requirements Planning and Work Order

1. Select Custom Office Main menu > Customizer Selection.

2. Select the panel to add a UDF to. For more information, see Select a Panel.

3. On the Customizer Toolbar, click the Add Field button.

Note  The Add Field button is available only if a UDF or other related field is associated with the current panel.

4. On the panel, click and drag to position the UDF.

5. In the Field Selection window, select the appropriate data source and field. To view all fields for the selected panel, click Show All. The Show All button toggles to the Show UDFs button. To view only the user-defined fields available for the selected panel, click the Show UDFs button.

Note  If you select a field from the MAIN data source, the field data can be maintained. If you select a field from any other data source, the field can only be viewed.

6. Click Select to select the field and exit the Field Selection window.

7. Click the Exit button to exit the panel. You are prompted to save your customizations. Click Yes to save the panel customizations, or click No to return to the panel without saving your changes.

The UDF is added to the panel.

 

 

Add a field to a grid on a panel for modules other than Material Requirements Planning and Work Order (non-subscription)

1. Select Custom Office Main menu > Customizer Selection.

2. Select the panel to add a user-defined field (UDF) to. For more information, see Select a Panel.

3. On the Customizer Toolbar, click the Add Field button.

Note The Add Field button is available only if a UDF or other related field is associated with the current panel.

4. Double-click the grid to which you are adding the UDF.

5. In the Grid Definition window, click the Add button.

6. In the Field Selection window, select the appropriate data source and field. To view all fields for the selected panel, click Show All. The Show All button toggles to the Show UDFs button. To view only the UDFs available for the selected panel, click the Show UDFs button.

Note  If you select a field from the MAIN data source, the field data can be maintained. If you select a field from any other data source, the field can only be viewed.

7. Click Select to select the field and exit the Field Selection window.

8. Click the Exit button to exit the panel. You are prompted to save your customizations. Click Yes to save the panel customizations, or click No to return to the panel without saving your changes.

The UDF is added to the grid.

 

Add a field to a list box on a panel for modules other than Material Requirements Planning and Work Order

1. Select Custom Office Main menu > Customizer Selection.

2. Select the panel to add a user-defined field (UDF) to. For more information, see Select a Panel.

3. On the Customizer Toolbar, click the Add Field button.

Note The Add Field button is available only if a UDF or other related field is associated with the current panel.

4. Double-click the list box you are adding the UDF to.

5. In the Drop Box/List Box Definition window, click the Add button.

6. In the Field Selection window, select the appropriate data source and field. Only fields defined for the current panel are available.

7. Click Select to select the field and exit the Field Selection window.

8. Click the Exit button to exit the panel. You are prompted to save your customizations. Click Yes to save the panel customizations, or click No to return to the panel without saving your changes.

The UDF is added to the list box.

 

Add a UDF to a panel in the Material Requirements Planning and Work Order modules

1. Select Custom Office Main menu > Customizer Selection.

2. Select the panel to add a UDF to. For more information, see Select a Panel.

3. On the Customizer Toolbar, click the Add Field button.

Note The Add Field button is available only if a UDF is associated with the current panel.

4. On the panel, click and drag to position the UDF.

5. In the User-Defined Field Selection window, select the appropriate table and user-defined field. For more information, see User-Defined Field Selection - Fields.

6. Click Select to select the user-defined field and exit the User-Defined Field Selection window.

7. Click the Exit button to exit the panel. You are prompted to save your customizations. Click Yes to save the panel customizations, or click No to exit without saving your changes.

The UDF is added to the panel. If a caption was defined for the UDF in the Add Field window, the caption is automatically placed adjacent to the UDF control. The default value and validation information for the UDF is set automatically, but can be modified.
