Customize Dot Matrix Form Template

You can select the dot matrix template to print forms on any dot matrix printer; however, because different printers use different draft fonts, customizing the template to use the appropriate font increases the printing speed.

Use this procedure to customize the dot matrix form template to use the appropriate draft or high-speed draft font.

Note The dot matrix template is available only for some forms.

Expand/Collapse item  Before You Begin

  • Obtain the name of the draft or high-speed draft font appropriate to your dot matrix printer in your printer documentation.

  • You do not have to customize the template if you are printing to the OKIDATA ML320/1 Turbo printer.

 

To customize a dot matrix form template to use the appropriate font

  1. Access the form printing window.

Note If this is the first time you are selecting the form printing window, the Template Selection window appears. Select Dot Matrix. For more information, see Template Selection - Fields.

  1. In the Form Code field, enter the form code to customize.

Note If you enter a new form code, the Template Selection window appears. Select Dot Matrix.

  1. Click Designer. The form appears in Crystal Designer.

  2. Select the File menu > Printer Setup.

  3. In the Printer Setup window, clear the No Printer check box.

  4. In the Name field, select the dot matrix printer and click OK.

  5. In Crystal Designer, press CTRL+A to select all fields.

  6. In the Font Face field, select the draft or high-speed draft font appropriate to your dot matrix printer.

Note If the appropriate font is not available, select another driver.

  1. Align the fields on the form to the proper position.

  2. Save the form.

The dot matrix form template is customized.
