You can set up shipper IDs for warehouse personnel and determine their shipper functions, including the shipping options that are available to them. Shippers can modify the warehouse, unit of measure, backordered quantities, ship-to locations, ship via, freight, and weight only if the corresponding check box is selected in Shipper ID Maintenance for their shipper ID. You must set up shipper IDs before using Shipping Data Entry.

The settings in Shipper ID Maintenance default from Shipping Setup Options.

This task is available only if the Enable Shipping check box is selected in Sales Order Options.

 

To set up a shipper ID

  1. Select Sales Order Setup menu > Shipper ID Maintenance.

  2. Enter a shipper ID code. For more information, see Shipper ID Maintenance - Fields.

  3. Enter the name associated with this shipper ID. If you would like this shipper to enter a password when using Shipping Data Entry, enter a password in the Password and Confirm Password fields. If you do not want to require a password, leave these fields blank.

  4. At the Shipping Function field, select whether this shipper will be able to enter shipping quantities, enter freight/tracking information, or both.

  5. Depending on the shipping function selected, select the appropriate check boxes corresponding to the tasks this shipper will be allowed to perform. Click Accept.

The shipper ID is set up, and can be used to access Shipping Data Entry.
