The Dashboard Maintenance Wizard provides several pages of questions and options that help you set up the Business Insights Dashboard. You must complete this wizard before using the Dashboard.

Note The Business Insights module must also be activated to run the Dashboard.

  • Define the setup options for the company logo and update parameters in Dashboard Options.

 

To set up the Business Insights Dashboard

  1. Select Business Insights Dashboard menu > Dashboard Maintenance Wizard.

  2. If the Dashboard Maintenance Wizard is launched from the menu and Dashboard Options have not been set up, you are prompted to set up the module. Clicking Yes opens the Dashboard Options window.

  1. Complete the Business Insights Dashboard Wizard pages.

  2. The Business Insights Dashboard can operate in two modes: Maintenance and User. In Maintenance mode, the Configure Dashboard for User field defaults to DefaultUser. With the DefaultUser setting, you can create a Dashboard that displays for any user who does not have a personally customized Dashboard. In User mode, with security enabled, the user enters their user logon or selects it by clicking the Lookup button. If security is not enabled, this field displays DefaultUser.

  3. In the Configure Dashboard for User field, you can click the Select User button to display all users on the Sage 100 system including DefaultUser.

  4. To allow users to modify their Dashboard, select the Allow User to Modify Their Dashboard Page check box for the user. The user can then click the Modify this Page link on any data element in the Dashboard to make modifications. Selecting this check box also allows users to show or hide data elements on their Dashboard, as well as change the order of the data elements. This check box is available only when the Dashboard Maintenance Wizard is launched in Maintenance mode and if the Configure Dashboard for User field contains a value other than DefaultUser.

  5. The Never Prompt This User for Dashboard Updates check box is available only if a value other than DefaultUser is selected in the Configure Dashboard for User field. Selecting this check box disables the prompting for updates when Display Options is selected on the menu. The prompting for updates is disabled even if the options set up in Display Options indicate that the Dashboard is scheduled for updating.

  6. To print a listing of your wizard selections, on the Completing the Business Insights Dashboard Wizard, click Wizard Listing.

  1. Review the settings in the Completing the Business Insights Dashboard Wizard page. Click Back to make any needed modifications. When complete, click Finish.
