Special Menu Commands

Expand/Collapse item How do I run Advanced Utility programs and enter the special menu commands?

The Desktop supports the ability to run the same Advanced Utility programs and to enter the special menu commands. Use the Run task in the File menu and enter the program name without the ^ (for example, SUDATA, SUINIT). The special commands available are *ESC (turn error trapping on/off), *PART (show installed part numbers), *INFO (show system information), and *XX where XX is the module code to switch to that module.

Troubleshooting

Expand or collapse item Why does the tree-view menu not change when I change modules from the drop-down menu?

The tree-view menu is independent of the drop-down menu. This means that regardless of the current module, you may directly select any task from any other module. This also allows you to keep the tree-view open in the area you use most frequently and use the drop-down menu to access other options. If you find the tree-view menu confusing, you can use the tree-view icon to close it and still have complete access to the Desktop through the drop-down menus.

Expand/Collapse item When I exit the Desktop, I keep getting the "Tasks are still active" message. What's wrong?

When you try to exit the Desktop, the software tries to automatically close any open tasks. Any tasks that can be closed will be closed automatically. If your tasks are busy processing updates, printing reports, or waiting for a response from the user, you will receive the message and the Desktop will not close.
