Change Method

Select the change method to be applied to all periods greater than the selected period in the same budget column in Budget Maintenance or in the same row in Budget Revision Entry. • Select Copy Amount to copy the value in the currently selected period cell to all periods greater than the selected cell in the same budget column in Budget Maintenance or in the same row in Budget Revision Entry.

 Example - Copy Amount Before/After

In Budget Maintenance, if the selected cell is Period 05 and the value in this cell is $5,600.00, when the Copy Amount method is applied, all cell values for Periods 06 through Period 12 in the same budget column will be updated with the new value $5,600.00.

In Budget Revision Entry, if the selected cell is Period 09 and the value in this cell is $5,600.00, when the Copy Amount method is applied, all cell values for Periods 10 through Period 12 in the same row will be updated with the new value $5,600.00.

• Select Change by Amount to change the values in all period cells greater than the selected period in the same budget column in Budget Maintenance or in the same row in Budget Revision Entry by the amount entered.

 Example - Change by Amount Before/After

In Budget Maintenance, if the selected cell is Period 06 and the change amount entered is $100.00, all cell values for Periods 07 through Period 12 in the same budget column will be increased by $100.00 each.

In Budget Revision Entry, if the selected cell is Period 09 and the change amount entered is $100.00, all cell values for Periods 10 through Period 12 in the same row will be increased by $100.00 each.

• Select Change by Percent to change the values in all period cells greater than the selected period in the same budget column in Budget Maintenance or in the same row in Budget Revision Entry by the percentage entered.

 Example - Change by Percent Before/After

In Budget Maintenance, if the selected cell is Period 07 and the change percent entered is 10%, all cell values for Periods 08 through Period 12 in the same budget column will be increased by 10% each.

In Budget Revision Entry, if the selected cell is Period 09 and the change percent entered is 10%, all cell values for Periods 10 through Period 12 in the same row will be increased by 10% each.

• Select Accumulate by Amount to change the values in all period cells greater than the selected period in the same budget column in Budget Maintenance or in the same row in Budget Revision Entry by cumulatively adding the amount entered to each period.

 Example - Accumulate by Amount Before/After

In Budget Maintenance, if the selected cell is Period 08 with a value of $100.00 and the accumulate by amount entered is $50.00, the value for the subsequent Period 09 will be set to $150.00, the value for Period 10 will be set to $200.00, the value for Period 11 will be set to $250.00, and so forth.

In Budget Revision Entry, if the selected cell is Period 09 with a value of $100.00 and the accumulate by amount entered is $50.00, the value for the subsequent Period 10 will be set to $150.00, the value for Period 11 will be set to $200.00, and the value for Period 12 will be set to $250.00.

• Select Accumulate by Percent to change the values in all period cells greater than the selected period in the same budget column in Budget Maintenance or in the same row in Budget Revision Entry by cumulatively applying the percent entered to each period.

 Example - Accumulate by Percent Before/After

In Budget Maintenance, if the selected cell is Period 08 with a value of $100.00 and the accumulate by percent entered is 10%, the value for the subsequent Period 09 will be set to $110.00, the value for Period 10 will be set to $121 [$110.00 + ($110.00 * 0.1000)], the value for Period 11 will be set to 133.10 [$121.00 + ($121.00 * 0.1000)] and so forth.

In Budget Revision Entry, if the selected cell is Period 09 with a value of $100.00 and the accumulate by percent entered is 10%, the value for the subsequent Period 10 will be set to $110.00, the value for Period 11 will be set to $121.00 [$110.00 + ($110.00 * 0.1000)], and the value for Period 12 will be set to 133.10 [$121.00 + ($121.00 * 0.1000)].

• When the currently selected cell is the first period of the fiscal year, an additional option, Annual Budget, is available. Select Annual Budget to distribute the amount entered in the Period 01 cell evenly among all periods in the fiscal year in the same budget column in Budget Maintenance or in the same row in Budget Revision Entry.

 Example - Annual Budget Before/After

In Budget Maintenance, if the value in Period 01 is $10,000.00, when the Annual Budget option is applied, cell values for Periods 01 through Period 12 will be updated with the new value $833.33 ($10,000 / 12).

In Budget Revision Entry, if the value in Period 01 is $10,000.00, when the Annual Budget option is applied, cell values for Periods 01 through Period 12 in the same row will be updated with the new value $833.33 ($10,000.00 / 12).

Change Percent/Amount

Enter the percentage or amount to change the budget while revising. To increase amounts, enter a positive number. To decrease amounts, enter a negative number by preceding the number with a minus (-) sign. This field is available only if an option other than Copy Amount or Annual Budget is selected in the Change Method field.
