Access this window using one of the following methods:
-
Select General Ledger Main menu > General Journal Entry.

Select General Ledger Main menu > Recurring Journal Entry.

Select General Ledger Main menu > Transaction Journal Entry.
In the Account Entry window, select a new subaccount and click the Add button.
The Add Sub Accounts in General Ledger check box must be selected in the General Ledger Options window to access the Sub Account Maintenance (On the Fly) window. Subaccounts can only be added on the fly in the General Ledger module.

Use Sub Account Maintenance (On the Fly) to add a subaccount on the fly from the General Ledger data entry windows. The main account is always the first segment, and segments 2-10 are used for subaccounts. Subaccounts represent different values within a segment and along with the main account are the basic building blocks of the general ledger account. The combination of a main account and subaccounts creates a general ledger account.
