Change the Status of a Warehouse

The default status for a warehouse is active, but you can set the status to either restricted or inactive.

Restricted status is intended for use as a temporary measure, for example, if you are counting inventory in that warehouse. You can set start and end dates to determine when the restricted period begins and ends.

Inactive status is intended for use as a permanent measure. You cannot set a warehouse to Inactive status if it contains inventory or is in use in data entry or maintenance records. A message will let you know if the warehouse is in use.

To change the status for a warehouse

  1. Select Inventory Management Setup menu > Warehouse Code Maintenance.
  2. Select a warehouse. For more information, see Warehouse Code Maintenance - Fields.
  3. In the Warehouse Status field, select a status. If you select Restricted, you can also:
    • Click the Allow Restricted Warehouse button to select tasks in which you can still use the warehouse in the Allow Entry of Restricted Warehouse window.
    • Enter dates in the Restricted Start Date and End Date fields to establish the time period in which the warehouse will be set to restricted status.
  4. Optionally, enter a comment related to the warehouse status.
  5. Click Accept.

The warehouse status is changed.
