Navigate Through the Software

Note Some features described here may not be available in your Sage 100 system.

There are two versions of the Desktop, standard and classic. You can select the version that you want to use in User Settings.

The Desktop provides access to modules and tasks. You can see all of the installed options when using the classic Desktop, but you can access a task only if you have the appropriate security setup. If you are using the standard Desktop, only the modules and tasks for which you have the appropriate security setup are visible on the menus.

You can also use the Desktop to select a company, change the accounting date, and access the help.

In addition, the Desktop web content provide you with important information and online resources. The available pages available are:

  • Information Center - This page appears when you first start the software. From the Information Center page, you can go to the community forums, view information on training and support, and provide feedback and suggestions to improve the product.  

  • Resources - From the Resources page, you can access the What's New page, view the Getting Started Guide and Customer Upgrade Guide online, and view the file layout and program information.

  • Business Insights Dashboard - View a graphical summary of your company's financial data.

  • Feature Tours - Learn about the software by watching brief videos.
