Standard Perform Logic

 

Standard perform logic is provided with many files to perform required updates to associated files. Whenever a job is created, any standard perform logic associated with the primary file is assigned automatically. This logic performs tasks such as updating sort files and balance fields. If you remove the standard perform logic from your jobs, these important tasks will not be performed.

The following table provides a partial list of standard perform logic associated with important files.

Updates the Extended Description Yes/No flag to Yes. Read the imported text to calculate the length of the text and store the calculated length in the header. Add a "~;~" character group at the end of the last text record.
