Using Job Numbers

Information in the system is organized by job number. The job number represents the identifying code for each project or contract to track. Up to seven alphanumeric characters can be used for the job number.

You may need to divide a project into separate contracts, which can be related to each other. Select the Use Sub-Job Number check box in the Job Cost Options window to designate the first four characters of the job number as the "master job," and to designate each of the "subjobs" with the remaining three characters. Job Cost reports provide totals of all subjobs when appropriate. For more information, see Job Cost Options.

Note Subjobs are processed as individual jobs.
