Change an Employee from One Department to Another

You can organize employees by department in order to post expenses and for departmental reports. Use this procedure if you need to change an employee’s department.

 

To change an employee's department

  1. Select Payroll Main menu > Employee Maintenance.

  2. Select the employee. For more information, see Employee Maintenance - Fields.

  3. Click the arrow button in the top-right corner and select Renumber.

  4. In the Employee Renumber window, enter the employee's new department number followed by the employee number. For more information, see Employee Renumber - Fields.

  5. Click OK.

The employee is now in a different department.
