Create a Temporary Field

Use this procedure to create a temporary field. You can use temporary fields to assign, add, subtract, or calculate values to import or export. Temporary values can be used for another calculation to accumulate totals. Temporary fields can contain numeric, string, or date values.

 

To create a temporary field

  1. Select Visual Integrator Main menu > Import Job Maintenance or Export Job Maintenance.

  2. In the Import Job Selection or Export Job Selection window, enter a new job name and table name, and then click Accept. For more information, see Import Job Selection - Fields or Export Job Selection - Fields.

  3. In Import Job Maintenance or Export Job Maintenance, click the Data tab and perform one of the following.

  4. For import fields in modules other than Material Requirements Planning or Work Order, click the Add Temp Field button. A temporary field is added to the data field list box. Double-click the field to modify the field properties in the Field Properties window.

  5. For import fields in the Material Requirements Planning and Work Order modules, click the Temp button. The Import Field Properties window appears for the new temporary field. Modify the field properties, if required, and then click Accept.

The temporary field is created.
