Set Up Cycles for a Job

You can enter the number of hours and minutes to wait between cycles for an import or export job, and set the number of cycles to perform. In each cycle, the job performs a full selection and import process from the source database.

Note Cycles are initiated for jobs only when they are executed outside of the software using a shortcut or a command line. When a job is run from the Desktop menu or from Export Job Maintenance, the cycle information is ignored.

If a job is chained to another job, the cycle only operates for the last job in the chain. Jobs created with a chain cannot have cycle information, and vice versa.

 

To set up cycles for a job

  1. Select Visual Integrator Main menu > Import Job Maintenance or Export Job Maintenance.

  2. In the Import Job Selection or Export Job Selection window, enter a job name and table name, and then click Accept. For more information, see Import Job Selection - Fields or Export Job Selection - Fields.

  3. In the Import Job Maintenance or Export Job Maintenance window, click Cycle. The Cycle button is available only if chain information is not selected in the Chain To field on the Export Job Maintenance Configuration tab.

  4. In the Cycle Options window, select the hours to wait, minutes to wait, and number of cycles.

  5. Click Accept.

  6. In the Import Job Maintenance or Export Job Maintenance window, click Accept and compile the job.

When the job is executed from outside of the software, cycles are initiated.
