Installing Customized Panels

You can use the Customizer module to create a custom panel and then install the changes to one or more additional systems.

Information for a customized panel is stored in a library file (file with a .LIB or .M4L extension). You can copy these files from one system to another using DOS commands or Windows Explorer.

Note The system you are installing the library files to must have the Customizer module installed. The library files on both systems must be at the same Sage 100 version.

Library Files

Within the CUSTOM subfolders are the actual library files that contain the customized panels. The names of these library files use the two-character module code (for example, AP, AR, or GL) followed by a unique file name. The name of the library file appears on the Panel Header Definition window and is printed on the Customizer Summary Report and the Customizer Detail Report.

Library files used for the Material Requirements Planning and Work Order modules use an .LIB extension. Library files used for all other modules use an .M4L extension.

GL_GeneralJournal.M4L - General Ledger Journal Entry library file

WOWDAA.LIB - Work Order Entry library file

The library files contain information for a module task. Each task can consist of one or more panels. The Work Order Entry task, for example, consists of the main panel, a panel for each tab, and several dialog boxes.

You can move the custom library files from one system to another or you can move them from one custom subfolder to another. When moving library files from one custom subfolder to another, you are effectively copying the customization from one user/company selection to another.

Warning  Never copy a customized library file to the main module program folder (AP, AR, etc.); the default settings for each panel will be overwritten. If this should occur, re-install the module.

CUSTOM folder

All library files for custom panels are stored in the CUSTOM folder found in each module folder. For example, all custom library files for the Accounts Payable module can be found in the MAS90\AP\CUSTOM folder.

Each CUSTOM folder has one or more subfolders containing the library files for specific user/company combinations. The names of the subfolders consist of the user logon followed by a dash and the three-character company code. Subfolders containing libraries for all users or all companies are designated by the ### code.
