Using the Navigation Pane

 

Use the Navigation pane to explore data related to the selected view. The Navigation pane is located to the left of the main Data View grid in the Business Insights Explorer window. The main groups on the Navigation pane are: Explore, Preview, and Tasks.

Note All functionality in the Navigation pane can also be accessed from the menus in Business Insights Explorer.

All examples in this section are based on using the Customer view in Business Insights Explorer (select Business Insights Explorer menu > Customer View).

  • The Explore group allows you to select a setting that is related to the information displayed in the Data View grid. For example, if you select the Standard setting under the Customer Payments folder on the Explore group, all of the payment records for the selected customer are displayed.

  • The Preview group allows you to select options that are related to the information displayed in the Data View grid. This related information displays in the Preview pane below the Data View grid, based on the row selected in the Data View grid.

  • The Tasks group allows you to access related tasks in Sage 100. For example, you can select Customer Maintenance on the Tasks group to directly access the Customer Maintenance window containing information for the customer selected in the Business Insights Explorer window.
