Use the Preview pane to view related data from the Data View grid. The Preview pane is located below the Data View grid. The data in the Preview pane is filtered by the selected row in the Data View grid and by the option selected in the Preview group on the Navigation pane.
The information used for the Preview pane is obtained by loading the default view setting for the specified preview. For example, if you selected the Customer view and the currently selected item from the Preview group on the Navigation pane is Open Invoices, the default view setting for Open Invoices is used to generate the grid layout in the Preview pane with the following exceptions:

The filter applied to the preview data is merged with related columns from the Data View grid.

Hidden columns remain hidden.

Visibility of the Group-By panel, Filter panel, Summary footer, Group Summary footer, and column cell-merge settings are ignored.
Note Changes made to the Preview pane, such as sorting and filtering do not persist when you save the settings made to the Data View grid.
