Display Summary Data

You can display the sum or average values for any numeric column of data in the Data View grid. You can also display the minimum or maximum value in a column as well as the count.

To display summary data

  1. Select Business Insights Explorer menu, and then select a view.

  2. In the Business Insights Explorer window, click the Summary Footer button on the Business Insights Explorer toolbar. Blank fields appear in the Summary panel below numeric columns.

  3. Right-click the summary field located below the column.

  4. Select whether to calculate the sum, average, minimum, maximum, or count value for the column, or to leave the field blank.

The data in the Data View grid is grouped.

Note If columns are grouped, to ungroup a column header, click and drag the column header off the Group-By panel. It is not necessary to drag the column header back to its original location in the Data View grid.

To view any summary data for grouped columns, click the Group Summary Footer button on the Business Insights Explorer toolbar. (Summary data is not otherwise displayed for grouped columns.)
