Explanation of Decimal Precision

Decimal precisions are used in transactions for prices, quantities, costs, and unit of measure conversion.

Expand/Collapse item Used in Accounts Receivable

The decimal precision in the Accounts Receivable module is set to three and cannot be changed. If the Sales Order module is integrated with Inventory Management, prices, quantities, costs, and units of measure on invoices created in Sales Order are displayed in Accounts Receivable based on the decimal precision set up in Common Information Options. If Sales Order is not integrated with Inventory Management, prices, quantities, costs, and units of measure on invoices created in Sales Order are displayed in Accounts Receivable with a decimal precision of 3.

 

Expand/Collapse item Used in Inventory Management, Purchase Order, Return Merchandise Authorization, Bill of Materials, Production Management, Inventory Requirements Planning, and Fixed Assets

The decimal precision set up in Common Information Options is used in the Inventory Management, Purchase Order, Return Merchandise Authorization, Bill of Materials, Production Management, Inventory Requirements Planning, and Fixed Assets modules.

If the Sales Order module is integrated with Inventory Management, the decimal precision set up in Common Information Options is used in Sales Order. If Sales Order is not integrated with Inventory Management, the decimal precision in Sales Order is set to 3 as it uses the same precision as the Accounts Receivable module.
