Allocation No.

This field displays the allocation number of the selected allocation and can only be viewed. Allocation numbers are defined in Allocation Entry.

 

Allocation Method

This field displays the method to use for calculating the selected allocation and can only be viewed. Allocation methods are defined in Allocation Entry.

 

Allocation Cycle

This field displays the cycle to use for posting the allocation and can only be viewed. Allocation cycles are defined selected in Allocation Entry. Allocations can be selected for posting in Allocation Selection once every period, quarter, or year. Manual allocations must be posted in General Journal Entry.

 

Allocation Basis

This field displays the value to use when calculating the allocation distribution amounts. The basis value can be the current activity, prior activity, beginning balance, ending balance, prior year activity, or budget of the destination account or a linked account. For more information, see Allocation Entry. This field can only be viewed and only appears when Basis is selected in the Allocation Method field in the Allocation Entry window.

 

Budget

This field displays the budget code used to calculate the allocation calculation. This field can only be viewed and appears only if Budget is selected in the Allocation Basis field in the Allocation Entry window.

 

Amount to Allocate

This field displays the value of the source account to allocate and can only be viewed. The amount to allocate can be the activity or balance of the source account, or a manual amount. The amount to allocate is defined in Allocation Entry.

 

Manual/Source Amount

This field displays the original source amount for the selected allocation, as calculated from the Amount to Allocate field. If Activity or Balance is selected in the Amount to Allocate field in the Allocation Entry window, the total activity or balance of the source account is displayed. If Manual is selected in the Amount to Allocate field in the Allocation Entry window, the manual amount entered is displayed. If you changed the source amount in Allocation Selection, the new value appears. This field can only be viewed.

 

Posting Amount (Header)

This field displays the source amount that is posted for the selected allocation. This value is the same as the value entered in the Manual/Source Amount field in the Allocation Entry window; however, you can change the source amount in the Source Amount field in the Allocation Selection window. If you changed the source amount in Allocation Selection, the new value appears. This field can only be viewed.

 

Account No.

This field displays the account number that receives the allocation distribution and can only be viewed. Destination accounts are defined in Allocation Entry.

 

Description

This field displays the description associated with the account in the Account No. field; this field can only be viewed. Account descriptions are entered in Account Maintenance.

 

Basis/Quantity/Percent

If Basis is selected in the Allocation Method field in the Allocation Entry window, this field displays the amount calculated from the allocation basis selected in Allocation Entry. If Quantity is selected in the Allocation Method field in the Allocation Entry window, this field displays the amount entered in Allocation Entry. If Percent is selected in the Allocation Method field in the Allocation Entry window, this field displays the percentage entered in Allocation Entry. This field can only be viewed.

 

Posting Amount (Detail)

This field displays the calculated amount to post to each destination account. For each distribution, this value is the total posting amount multiplied by the percent. This field can only be viewed.

 

Linked

This check box is selected if Basis is selected as the allocation method and the basis is calculated using a different account than the destination account. The basis of the allocation distribution is calculated using the linked account instead of the account that receives the distribution. This field appears only if Basis is selected in the Allocation Method field in the Allocation Entry window.

 

Linked Account

This field displays the account used to calculate a basis allocation. For each distribution, this account will be used as the basis of the allocation instead of the account that receives the distribution. This field can only be viewed, and appears only if Basis is selected at the Allocation Method field in the Allocation Entry window. Linked accounts are defined in Allocation Entry.

If the linked account is associated with a masked destination account and the link cannot be resolved, **Not on File** appears in this field.

 

Account Mask

This field displays any masked account numbers for the selected allocation distribution. This field can only be viewed.

A masked account number represents one or more account numbers that receive the allocation distribution. Account masks are defined in Allocation Entry. An asterisk (*) is entered for each wild card character in the account number.

An at sign (@) is entered for each template position in the account. Each position with the at sign (@) represents the character in the same position of the source account.

If the source account is 50400-22-010-000-000 and the linked account template is 10000-@@-010-000-000, the linked account would be 10000-22-010-000-000.

 

Linked Acct Template

This field displays the linked account template for the allocation distribution. A linked account template represents one or more account numbers used to calculate a basis allocation. An at sign (@) is entered for each template position in the account (for example, 50400-@@-010-000-000). Each position with the at sign (@) represents the character in the same position of the destination account.

If the source account is 50400-22-010-000-000 and the linked account template is 10000-@@-010-000-000, the linked account would be 10000-22-010-000-000.

The linked account represented by the template is used as the basis of the allocation instead of the destination account. This field can only be viewed and appears only if Basis is selected at the Allocation Method field in the Allocation Entry window. Account templates are entered in Allocation Entry.

 

Comment

This field displays the posting comments associated with each allocation distribution and can only be viewed. Posting comments are defined in Allocation Entry.
