About Inventory Requirements Planning
The Inventory Requirements Planning module identifies items required to be purchased or produced over a given planning period. The module can be used by a production planner or buyer to review shortages and generate purchase orders and work tickets to fulfill the demand.
The Inventory Requirements Planning module evaluates the following information to determine quantity requirements:
- Supply from current inventory
- Reorder points, minimum order quantities, and maximum on hand quantities
- Demand from sales order line items (when the module is integrated with Sales Order)
- Demand from work ticket parts (when the module is integrated with Production Management)
- Supply from work tickets being made (when the module is integrated with Production Management)
- Supply from incoming purchase orders not linked to work tickets when planning by inventory item (when the module is integrated with Purchase Order)
