Lock Users Out of the System

User preferences are preferences that apply to each user. You can set up additional security measures for individual users, such as setting a workstation to automatically log off and manually locking certain users out of the system.

Note The user's account will lock automatically if too many incorrect logon attempts are made by the user or if the date in the user's Expiration Date field has passed.

  • You must be logged on as the Administrator or have been given security permissions by an Administrator to access User Maintenance.

 

To lock users out of the system

  1. Use any of the following methods to access the User Maintenance window:

  2. Log on to the software as the Administrator. The Administrative Tools screen appears. Click User Maintenance.

  3. Select Library Master Security menu > User Maintenance.

  4. In the User Logon field, select the user that you want to lock out of the system. For more information, see User Maintenance - Fields.

  5. Select the User Account Locked check box.

  6. Click Accept.

The user is locked out of the system.
