Use Forward or Backward Scheduling to Schedule a Work Ticket

To use forward scheduling to schedule a new work ticket

  1. Select Production Management Main menu > Work Ticket Entry.
  2. Enter a new work ticket number, and then enter the information on the Header tab, Steps tab, and Materials tab.

    Note If you created a work ticket template with enhanced scheduling options defined, apply the template to the work ticket to speed data entry. On the Header tab, at the Template No. field, select the template.

  3. On the Schedule tab, click the Schedule button.
  4. In the Schedule Work Ticket window, select Forward at the Scheduling Method field.
  5. Enter the production start date or click the Calendar button to select a date.
  6. Click the Calculate Schedule button. The scheduling process determines the calculated start date and the calculated due date.
  7. Click Apply. The scheduling process updates the production start date and production due date on the Work Ticket Entry Schedule tab, and the lead time (days) is set based on those dates. The scheduling process also updates the Work Ticket Entry Steps tab with revised queue date, production start date, and production due date.

To use backward scheduling to schedule a new work ticket

  1. Select Production Management Main menu > Work Ticket Entry.
  2. Enter a new work ticket number, and then enter the information on the Header tab, Steps tab, and Materials tab.

  4. In the Schedule Work Ticket window, select Backward at the Scheduling Method field.
  5. Enter the production due date or click the Calendar button to select a date.
  6. Click the Calculate Schedule button. The scheduling process determines the calculated start date and the calculated due date.
  7. Click Apply. The scheduling process updates the production start date and production due date on the Work Ticket Entry Schedule tab, and the lead time (days) is set based on those dates. The scheduling process also updates the Work Ticket Entry Steps tab with revised queue date, production start date, and production due date.

To use forward scheduling to reschedule a work ticket

After a work ticket is scheduled, you can reschedule all or part of the work ticket.

  1. Select Production Management Main menu > Work Ticket Entry.
  2. Select the work ticket to reschedule, and on the Schedule tab, click the Schedule button.
  3. In the Schedule Work Ticket window, select the forward scheduling method.
  4. Select the first step affected by the rescheduling. The Production Start Date field updates based on the step selected.
  5. Change the production start date if necessary.
  6. Click the Calculate Schedule button. The scheduling process determines the calculated start date and the calculated due date.
  7. Click Apply. The scheduling process updates the production start date and production due date on the Work Ticket Entry Schedule tab, and the lead time (days) is set based on those dates. The scheduling process also updates the Work Ticket Entry Steps tab with revised queue date, production start date, and production due date.
