Use this procedure to create a conditional expression for an import or export field.

To create a conditional expression

  1. Select Visual Integrator Main menu > Import Job Maintenance or Export Job Maintenance.

  2. In the Import Job Selection or Export Job Selection window, enter a new job name and table name, and then click Accept. For more information, see Import Job Selection - Fields or Export Job Selection - Fields.

  3. In Import Job Maintenance or Export Job Maintenance, click the Data tab. Double-click a field in the data file list box.

  4. In the Field Properties window, enter a valid conditional expression to perform for the data item. A conditional expression consists of valid field names, conditional operators, functions, and constant values. The field names must be enclosed in curly brackets { }. Enter a conditional expression in the Conditional field. Click the Expression Builder button to access the Expression Builder (Export) or Expression Builder (Import) window, which allows you to build a calculation expression by selecting from a list of data items and operators. For more information, see Field Properties - Fields.

  1. Click Accept.

The expression is created for the field.
