Using the Replicate operation

After completing the prerequisites in the Before you start the Replicate operation section, perform the following:

Replicate a Sage 100 site

Use the Replicate operation in the Sage Provisioning Portal to create a new site based on an existing one. The Replicate operation creates a new site using the selected template and attaches the data disk from the original site as a third disk on the new site.

To replicate a Sage 100 site

  1. Open the Sage Provisioning Portal.
  2. Select Dashboard > Site Dashboard.
  3. Select the site you want to replicate.
  4. In the Operations panel, click Replicate.
  5. In the Replicate Site window, enter the name of the new site, select the version of Sage 100 to use, and then click Replicate.

Note: The new site can use the same version of Sage 100 as the original site, or you can select a later version.

Enable access to the replicated site

After the Replicate operation is complete, all users are locked from the replicated site and you must unlock the S100 admin user who is performing the parallel migration.

To unlock the S100 admin user

  1. In the Users section, locate the S100 admin.
  2. In the Actions field for the S100 admin, click the Unlock icon.
  3. In the Virtual Machine access field, verify Local Admin is selected for the S100 admin. If not, click the user name.
  4. In the Update user assignment window, select Local Admin in the Virtual machine access field, verify the S100 admin check box is selected, and then click Save.

After completing the steps above, see Configuring the replicated site.
