Cleaning up post-migration

After performing the SQL migration process and verifying Sage 100 is working properly, perform the following cleanup steps.

Delete source server backup application data

To delete the backup application data

  1. Open File Explorer and browse to data drive E.
  2. Delete the following folder: E:\SourceData
  3. Close File Explorer.

Delete second SQL Server database instance

The second SQL Server database instance created for the source server database backup files can now be deleted.

To delete the second database instance

  1. Select the Start menu > Microsoft SQL Server 2022 > SQL Server 2022 Configuration Manager.
  2. In the SQL Server Configuration Manager window, select SQL Server Services on the left side.
  3. Stop all services.
  4. Exit SQL Server Configuration Manager.
  5. Select the Start menu > Settings > Apps.
  6. Select Microsoft SQL Server 2022 and click Uninstall, and when prompted to confirm, click Uninstall again.
  7. At the prompt in the User Account Control window, click Yes.
  8. In the SQL Server 2002 window, click Remove.
  9. In the Select Instance screen, select SOURCEDB in the Instance to remove features from field and click Next.
  10. In the Select Features screen, after SOURCEDB, select the Database Engine Services check box and click Next.

Warning! Do not select any of the shared services check boxes because that will break the SQL Server database for the main instance on the server.

  11. In the Ready to Remove screen, verify the features to be removed and click Remove.
  12. When the removal is complete, click Close.
  13. Exit Settings.
  14. Restart the server.

Delete source server backup database files

After the server has restarted, delete the backup database files.

To delete the backup database files

  1. Open File Explorer and browse to data drive E.
  2. Delete the following folder: E:\SourceDB
  3. Close File Explorer.

After completing the steps above, you've successfully migrated data from the source Sage 100 installation using Microsft SQL Server data to the new Sage 100 SQL site in Sage Partner Cloud.
