Overview

The Tax Table Listing provides a printed record of all information used to calculate payroll taxes. The titles on the Tax Table Listing (PERSONAL EXEMPTION, DEPENDENT EXEMPTION, PERCENTAGE OF EXCESS, etc.) are based on governmental tax reporting information and are not unique to a computerized Payroll system.

Because of the changing nature of tax law and the ability of the user to change the tax calculation information provided in this package, Sage cannot be responsible for the accuracy of the tax calculations performed by this payroll system.

Warning It is the user's responsibility to be aware of the tax obligations and the accuracy of the tax information used.

When printing this listing, you can print any combination of federal, state, or local tax codes. If you choose to print the state tables, you can print all or a selected portion of states. Finally, you can choose to include or exclude the tax tables and/or the General Ledger Accrual accounts.

If you are processing payroll manually, you are already familiar with the terminology and concepts. The listing is organized by tax jurisdictions (federal, state, and local). Each jurisdiction's listing is then divided by filing status (Single, Married, Married Filing Separate, etc.). The accuracy of the information printed on the listing determines the accuracy of payroll tax calculations.

Check the listing carefully, referencing the appropriate federal and state employer's tax guides. Verify the accuracy of any data entered.

Warning Tax tables are system wide, not company specific. If a tax code or filing status is deleted, it affects all companies.

Note any changes that must be made to the Tax Table Listing and make the necessary changes using Tax Table Maintenance.
