The number of benefit hours available to an employee is based on the selection in the Base Benefit Availability On field in Payroll Options.

• If Limit is selected in the Base Benefit Availability On field, the availability of employee benefits is based on the annual limit for the benefit entered in Employee Maintenance plus the carry-over allowance minus the amount used for the benefit entered in Payroll Data Entry.

 Example 1

	Hrs. Accrued	Hrs. Used	Annual Limit	Carry-Over	Available
Vacation	10	4	80	10	86

 

• If Accrual is selected in the Base Benefit Availability On field, the availability of employee benefits is based on the accrual amount accumulated during normal Payroll processing plus the carry-over allowance minus the amount used for the benefit entered in Payroll Data Entry.

 Example 2

	Hrs. Accrued	Hrs. Used	Annual Limit	Carry-Over	Available
Vacation	10	4	80	10	16
