Use this procedure to save a report setting based on an existing report setting.

This procedure applies only to some modules.

To create a report setting

  1. In the report window, in the Report Setting field, select the setting to use as the basis for your new report setting.

  2. Modify the settings in the report window and select Save As from the Save drop-down list to create a new report setting based on the current report setting. You can also click Save to save the current report setting. The Save As Report Setting window appears.

Note The standard set of reports for modules other than Material Requirements Planning and Work Order are assigned a report setting of Standard.

If STANDARD is selected in the Report Setting field in the report window, you cannot save all selections made in the report window to the STANDARD report setting. The settings made in the report window will revert back to the previous STANDARD report settings. When you click Save, the Save As Report Setting window appears allowing you to save the changes to another report setting name.

You can save the printer selection to the STANDARD report setting if the Use Workstation Default Printer for STANDARD Report Setting check box is cleared in Company Maintenance. Only the printer selection, number of copies, and collation setting can be saved to the STANDARD report setting.

  1. In Save As Report Setting, in the Description field, type the description for the report setting you are saving. For more information, see Save As Report Setting - Fields.

  2. In the Type field, select the report type option.

  3. Select the Default Report check box to save the report setting as your default report setting.

  4. To set up the report setting to always use the same template, select the Always Use This Template check box and enter the Template field.

  5. Click Designer to customize the report in Crystal Designer.

  6. In the Save As Report Setting window, click OK.

Changes made to an existing report setting are saved to a new report setting name or to the current report setting name. The report setting that you created is available in the Report Setting field in the report window for future use.

Note Report and form printer information is retained by workstation and form code. When a new report setting or form code is created, the workstation ID and the printer information is retained. This functionality enables multiple users to select the same form code or report setting, and retain the printer information specific to their workstation ID.
