Use this procedure to enter a new opportunity on the fly for a quote or sales order from within Sage CRM.

  • The Customer Relationship Management module must be set up before quotes or sales orders can be created. For more information, see Set Up Customer Relationship Management for a New Company.

  • A prospect customer number must be defined in CRM Company Options before prospect quotes can be entered.

  • You can create prospect quotes only for Sage CRM companies that are not related to Accounts Receivable customers. If the company you are creating a quote for has a relationship with an Accounts Receivable customer, see Enter a Sage CRM Sales Order or Customer Quote.

  • Prospect quotes can be created only from within the Sage CRM software. After a prospect quote is created, it can be accessed in Sales Order Entry from either Sage CRM or Sage 100.

  • In Sage 100, sales orders can be associated with opportunities only if the customer is related to a Sage CRM company. To enter a prospect quote for a Sage CRM company that is not related to a customer, see Enter a Sage CRM Prospect Quote.

 

To enter a Sage CRM opportunity on the fly

  1. In Sage CRM, right-click New, and select New Quote or New Order.

  2. In Create New Sage CRM Quote/Order, select the name of the Sage CRM company for the quote or sales order. For more information, see Create New Sage CRM Quote/Order - Fields.

  3. If you are creating a quote, the Lookup window displays all available companies.

  4. If you are creating a sales order, the Lookup window displays all companies that are related to Accounts Receivable customers.

  1. If you are creating a quote, and the selected Sage CRM company is not associated with a Sage 100 company, select one in the Sage 100 Company field.

  2. Click the New Opportunity button to create a new opportunity and automatically relate it to the order. This field displays *ASSIGN to indicate that the opportunity will be assigned when the order information is accepted.

  3. Click Proceed.

  4. In Sales Order Entry, complete the quote or sales order, and then click Accept.
