Quick Print a Check

Use this procedure to print a check on the fly and record the invoice at the same time. You can also quick print a check for posted invoices. Quick printed checks can be reprinted as long as they have not been updated.

 

 

To print a quick print check

  1. Select Accounts Payable Main menu > Manual Check and Payment Entry.

  2. Enter the bank code. For more information, see Manual Check and Payment Entry - Fields.

Note Do not use bank code Z if you plan to perform Accounts Payable from Accounts Receivable clearing. For more information, see Perform Accounts Payable from Accounts Receivable Clearing.

  1. Click the Quick Print Check button.

Note The Quick Print Check button is available only with the appropriate security setup.

  1. Enter the check date, check amount, vendor number, and a comment.

  2. Click the Lines tab. In the Invoice No. field, enter the invoice number to pay, and click Accept.

Note If the invoice does not exist, a message appears asking if this is a new invoice. Click Yes and enter the invoice date, invoice amount, and other appropriate information on the Lines tab.

  1. In the Manual Check Printing window, enter information as needed and click Print. For more information, see Manual Check Printing - Fields.

The check is printed.  

 

To reprint a quick print check

Note Quick print checks can be reprinted as long as they remain in the data entry file, but not after they have been updated.

  1. Select Accounts Payable Main menu > Manual Check and Payment Entry.

  2. Enter the check number of the check to reprint. For more information, see Manual Check and Payment Entry - Fields.

  3. Click the Reprint Check button.

  4. When a message asks if you are reprinting the same check number, click Yes.

  5. In the Manual Check Printing window, click the Print button.

The check is reprinted.
