Expand/Collapse item  Overview

You can move one or more PDF documents using the applicable viewer task for that document type. PDF documents are physically moved and their new locations are displayed in the viewer.

This procedure can also be used to redefine the correct path of the PDF document in the viewer, if the documents were previously moved outside of the viewer.

Note If PDF documents are moved outside of the viewer, an N is displayed in the PDF Exists column, and the last known PDF location is displayed in red text.

  • PDF documents must have already been created using Paperless Office.

  • The move functionality both redefines the path of the documents in the viewer and physically moves the PDF documents. Verify the workstation where you are performing the move has security access to the folder the documents are being moved from.

To move PDF documents

  1. Open the applicable Paperless Office viewer task for the type of document you are moving. For example, to move sales orders, select Paperless Office Main menu > Customer Viewer.

  2. In the viewer window, select the documents to display. Depending on the location you are accessing the viewer from, filter the forms by company, document, form type, and form date. You can also click the Search button to perform a search.

You can select multiple PDF documents to move by pressing the CRTL key and clicking the documents to select. To select a range of documents, press the SHIFT key and click the first and last documents to select.

  1. Click the Move button. In the Move PDF Documents window, enter the new location for the PDF files. For more information, see Move PDF Documents - Fields.

  2. Click OK.

A message appears listing the number of PDF documents that were moved. The new location is displayed in the viewer task in the PDF Location column.
