Punch In/Out - Fields

 

Punch In/Out

Employee No.

Enter your employee number.

If your employee number includes leading zeros, you can omit them when entering the number.

If your employee number includes a two-digit department number at the beginning (it will be separated by a dash from the remaining characters) you must include it, but you can still omit the additional zeros. For example:

  • If your employee number is 000007500, you can enter 7500.
  • If your employee number is 01-0001020, you can enter 011020 or 01-1020.

This field is available if Employee No. is selected in the Punch In Method field in Time Track Options.

 

Badge No.

Enter your badge number. Badge numbers are maintained in the Employee Time Track Settings window accessed through Employee Maintenance.

This field is available if Badge No. is selected in the Punch In Method field in Time Track Options.

 

Password

Enter your password. The password for punching in and out is maintained in the Employee Time Track Settings window accessed through Employee Maintenance / Employee Inquiry.

This field appears only if the Require Employee Password check box is selected in Time Track Options.

 

Date / Time

This field displays the current data and time on the computer you're using and can only be viewed. This will be the date and time used when you punch in or out.

 

Recent Activity list box

This list box displays your activity for the current day. If you have no activity for the current day, your activity from the previous day appears instead.

 

Hours Recap list box

This list box displays your total hours for the current day and week.

 

Action

Select an action. The actions available depends on your last event. For example, if you are currently punched in, Punch In is not available in the list.

If the Allow Punch Out for Lunch check box is selected in Shift Maintenance, the Punch Out for Lunch option is available when you are punched in. While you are punched out for lunch, the Punch In after Lunch Option is available.

If the Allow Repunch check box is selected in Time Track Options, the End Current Task option is available. Select this option if you need to change the earnings code, job number, or cost code without punching out and back in again. (You must have the appropriate security setup to change the earnings code.)

 

Department

Enter a department number, or click the Lookup button to list all department numbers.

This field is available if the Payroll Departments check box is selected in Payroll Options.

 

Earnings Code

This field displays your default regular-time earnings code. If you can the appropriate security setup, you can enter a different earnings code or click the Lookup button to view all earnings codes.

Note Tip and fixed amount earnings codes cannot be entered when punching in or out.

 

Job No.

Enter a job number or click the Lookup button to view all job numbers.

This field is available if the Enable Time Track for TimeCard check box is selected in Job Cost Options.

 

Cost Code

Enter a cost code or click the Lookup button to view all cost codes. If you're assigned a default cost code, it appears automatically, but you can change it if necessary.

This field is available if the Enable Time Track for TimeCard check box is selected in Job Cost Options.
