Enter the bill number for the parent item (finished product item code), or click the Lookup button to list all bill numbers.
Click the Bill Maintenance button to open the Bill of Materials Maintenance window for the bill. Click the Bill Maintenance drop-down button to view additional information for the bill. These tasks are available only if you have the appropriate security setup.

Click the Memo button to view, create, or maintain item memos. The Memo button is available only if the appropriate memo type has been set up in Memo Manager Maintenance for this task. If a memo already exists for this task, the Memo button appears yellow. If a memo does not exist, the Memo button appears blue. For more information, see Memo Maintenance.
Note The Memo button is available only for Standard, Kit, or Inactive bill types.
Select a row and click the Export to Excel button to export the contents of the list box to Microsoft Excel. The button is available if Excel is installed on your computer and you have the appropriate security setup.
Enter the revision code for the bill number, or click the Lookup button to list all active revision codes. Enter an asterisk to use the current revision of the bill. This field is available only if the Require Bill Revisions check box is selected in Bill of Materials Options. The bill type, routing number, current revision, description, and date last used appear after you enter a revision code and can only be viewed. Use Bill of Materials Maintenance to edit the Bill Type, Routing Number, Current Revision, Description, and Date Last Used fields.
This field displays the type of bill selected and can only be viewed.
This field displays the standard unit of measure entered in Item Maintenance for the bill selected (with the exception of phantom bills) and can only be viewed.
This field displays the routing number used to produce this bill
If the Bill of Materials module is integrated with Production Management, this field displays the template number instead of the routing number.
This field can only be viewed.
Enter the option codes for the bill number, or click the Option Selection button to open the Option Selection window, which allows you to select option codes. All option categories for the currently selected bill number display in this window. This field is available only if the Use Option Bills check box is selected in Bill of Materials Options.
Click Explode to view a list of all components that comprise the bill.
This field displays the bill revision code that represents the current information for the bill and can only be viewed.
This field displays the description for the bill number and/or revision code. If the bill number entered represents an inventory item, the description entered in Item Maintenance appears.
This field displays the date this bill was last used. This field is updated automatically when the current bill number and/or revision code are used in Production Entry or Disassembly Entry.
Enter the effective date used to apply any engineering change control additions or deletions, or click the Calendar button to select a date from the calendar. This field is available only if the Enable Engineering Change Control check box is selected in Bill of Materials Options.
Select the detail to be displayed.
Select Include All Detail to include all charges and comments, as well as components.
Select Exclude Charges to exclude charges.
Select Exclude Both to exclude charges and comments.
Click Explode to view a list of all components that comprise the bill.
Select this option to display the components that are directly used in the manufacture of an item.
Select this option to display a list of all component items on a bill, with each level indented from the preceding level.
The list of components are displayed in a tree view format. The Tree View feature allows the component detail to be expanded or collapsed. Click the Collapse Tree or Expand Tree buttons to collapse or expand the entire bill structure.
Select this option to display multi-level bills that list all components and their quantities required in a given bill structure.
Single-Level Without Phantom Blow-Through
Select this option to display the phantom bills without a detailed list of components. This option is available only if the Use Phantom Bills check box is selected in Bill of Materials Options.
This list box displays bill information based on the type of inquiry selected.
Use the buttons located to the right of the list box to view additional information such as comments. In the Indented view, click the Collapse Tree or Expand Tree buttons to collapse or expand the entire bill structure.
