Lot/Serial Number Distribution
Enter the lot or serial number for this distribution, or click the Lookup button to list quantities previously received.
Click the Show All Lots button to view all lot numbers.
- If you're creating a sale or issue transaction, all available lot numbers are listed. If you're tracking lot expiration dates, the list is filtered based on either the sell-by, use-by, return-by, or expiration date, depending on the task.
- If you're creating a receipt, all lots are included in the list.
- After viewing all of the lots, you can click the drop-down button and select Hide Zero Lots to hide lots that have not been used for distribution of the item.
Expiration, sell-by, and use-by dates are enabled and calculated based on settings in Item Maintenance. For more information, see Expiration Dates for Lot and Serial Items.
Click the Select Serial Numbers button to view a list of available serial numbers for the item. If you're adding serial items to stock, the Add Serial Numbers button is available.
If you’re adding lot items to stock and the next lot/serial number is defined on the Item Maintenance Additional tab, the Next Lot Number button is available. Click the Next Lot Number button to use the next automatically incremented lot number, set the Distribute field to the distribution balance, and calculate the expiration date (for more information, see Expiration Dates for Lot and Serial Items).
This field displays the lot or serial number quantity available for the selected lot or serial number and can only be viewed.
Type the total quantity to distribute for the lot or serial number selected.
This field displays the sales order lot/serial distribution quantity and can only be viewed. This field is available only if the Enable Lot/Serial Distribution check box is selected in Sales Order Options, and if the Lot/Serial Number Distribution window is accessed from S/O Invoice Data Entry and Shipping Data Entry.
This check box appears selected for lot items and appears cleared for serial items, regardless of the setting in the Auto Increment check box in Shipping Data Entry. If you use the scanner to scan the Auto Increment Qty Toggle keyword on the Shipping Options Listing, this field will toggle from selected to cleared and vice versa.
This field is available only if the Enable Shipping check box is selected in Sales Order Options and scanning is set up. For more information, see Enter or Scan Items in Shipping Data Entry.
This field displays a running total of the remaining quantity to distrubute and can only be viewed. The balance in this field does not reflect the quantity entered for the current line.
Return-By Date
This field displays the last date by which returns are accepted and can only be viewed. You cannot process a return for the item after this date unless you have the appropriate security setup.
The return-by date is calculated based on settings in Item Maintenance. If a return-by date is not calculated, the expiration date is used instead.
This field may not be available depending on what type of transaction you are processing and whether a return-by date is calculated for this item based on settings in Item Maintenance.
Sell-By Date
This field displays the sell-by date and can only be viewed. You cannot sell an item after this date unless you have the appropriate security setup.
The sell-by date is calculated based on settings in Item Maintenance. If a sell-by date is not calculated, the expiration date is used instead.
This field is available depending on what type of transaction you are processing and whether a sell-by date is calculated for this item based on settings in Item Maintenance.
Use-By Date
This field displays the use-by date and can only be viewed. You cannot use an item after this date unless you have the appropriate security setup.
The use-by date is calculated based on settings in Item Maintenance. If a use-by date is not calculated, the expiration date is used instead.
This field is available depending on what type of transaction you are processing and whether a use-by date is calculated for this item based on settings in Item Maintenance.
Expiration Date
Enter the expiration date or click the Calendar button to select a date from the calendar.
If the expiration date is automatically calculated based on settings in Item Maintenance, this field displays the date, and it can be changed only if you have the appropriate security setup.
This field is available if the Track Lot/Serial Expiration Dates check box is selected in Item Maintenance.
