Report Printing Defaults

Printing with the Software

Note This topic applies only to printing in the Material Requirements Planning and Work Order modules.

When a report printing task is selected, the software uses the default printer defined in the workstation's Windows environment. A different Windows or Device Configurator printer can be selected by clicking Printer Setup in the task window. To change the software default printer, you must change the Windows printer default setting.

When a report printing task is selected for a module running in character mode, a Printer Selection window appears. This window allows you to specify the Device Configurator printer for the selected report. The printer default can be changed by selecting a specific Device Configurator printer.

For example, assume the default of (none) is changed to device LP for a particular workstation. When that workstation enters a module running in character mode and a report is selected, the default printer LP appears in the upper right corner of the selected option window. (The printer selection window will not appear by default.)

It is also possible to have GUI report printing tasks default to a Device Configurator printer. For example, assume LP is selected as the default and the Enable Graphics Printing for this Printer check box is selected in Printer Preferences. If you select the Job Masterfile Listing task, the default printer would be LP instead of the Windows default printer.
