Graphic Report Format

Printing with the Software

Note This topic applies only to printing in the Material Requirements Planning and Work Order modules.

By default, all reports print in graphical format. This allows the standard reports to be printed with proportional fonts. Graphic report format is limited to Windows printers and Device Configurator printers configured as Windows printers.

To override the default so that reports will not print in graphical format from a particular workstation, select Library Master Setup menu > Printer Preferences. In the Printer Preferences window, clear the Enable Graphics Printing for this Printer check box. This forces the printer to use a fixed-pitch font. For more information, see Printer Preferences - Fields.

The graphic report format configuration is done in Report Format Maintenance. Every report is divided into three sections: header, body, and footer. By default, the header and footer use the Arial 12 point font and the body uses a variable size Times New Roman font. Some of the formatting selections that can be made include:

  • Fonts to use in the header, body, and footer;

  • Shading to use in the header and footer;

  • Printing of company information, report title, report captions, and user information;

  • Bitmaps to include in the header or body background (for example, a company logo or watermark).

Changes made in Report Format Maintenance are specific to company code; they are not specific to user code, workstation ID, or to the report. The only exception to this rule is the ability to override the font in the body of the report in Printer Preferences. This override is specific to workstation ID. For more information, see Report Printing Defaults.
