Access this window using one of the following methods:
-
Select Library Master Security menu > Role Maintenance.
-
If you are set up as the Administrator, when logging on to the software, the Administrative Tools screen appears. Click Role Maintenance.
Note This version of Role Maintenance is available if you purchased Sage 100 through a subscription plan.
Use Role Maintenance to define and maintain roles that reflect functions within an organization. The roles are then assigned to Sage 100 users to control which tasks they can access and what they can do in those tasks.
Use the Task tab to give access to the tasks located on the module menus. For the maintenance tasks in most modules, you can assign Create, Modify, Remove, or View permissions. Windows accessed within a task inherit the permissions assigned to the primary task window.
Use the Security Options tab to allow users to perform various activities, such as creating on-the-fly customers, accessing private batches, and overriding customer credit limits. When you select a security event, a more detailed description appears at the bottom of the window.
If SData security is enabled in System Configuration, you can use the SData Security tab to assign Create, Read, Update, and Delete permissions for some data tables.
If ODBC security is enabled in System Configuration, you can use the ODBC Security tab to assign ODBC security permissions and allow access to individual data tables and fields.
Click Copy to copy selections from an existing role or one of the role templates that come with Sage 100.
Click Assign to assign the selected role to one or more users.
Click Remove to unassign a role that was previously assigned to a user.
Click Apply to apply changes made for the selected role to other applicable roles.
All changes to roles are recorded in the Activity Log.
