Use user-defined information codes as a data source for user-defined information fields set up in Work Ticket Class Maintenance. When the work ticket class is assigned to a work ticket, the codes are then available to select in the user-defined information fields.
Create code classesBefore creating the codes, you must create classes for them.
- Select Production Management > Setup > Production Management Options.
- On the User Defined tab, enter a code class and description.
- Select the code length, type, and description length.
- Create additional classes as needed, and then click Accept.
You can now use the classes to create user-defined information codes.
Create the codes
- Select Production Management > Setup > User Defined Info Codes Maintenance.
- Select one of the code classes created in Production Management Options.
- Enter a code and description.
- Create as many codes for this class as needed, and then click Accept.
You can now use the classes and codes for user-defined information fields.
Add a code as a data source for a user-defined info field
- Select Production Management > Setup > Work Ticket Class Maintenance .
- Select an existing class or create a new one.
- On the User Defined tab, enter a description for the field.
- In the Data Type field, select Code.
- In the Class field, select a code class.
- Select the Req'd check box to make the field required.
- In the Input Prompt field, enter a field label.
- Click Accept.
The user-defined field now appears in Work Ticket Template Maintenance and in Work Ticket Entry for any work tickets assigned to the work ticket class. The codes entered in User Defined Info Codes Maintenance for the specified class are available as options to select in the field.
