Warehouse groups allow you to define one or more groups that are used by the MRP Generation process to consolidate recommendations for material acquisitions. A warehouse must be assigned a group code to be considered by the MRP Generation process. Each warehouse group can have one or more warehouses and a group code of up to three characters. All warehouses with the same group code are consolidated and the results are printed together on the MRP Report. The system treats each group separately, so that for two groups you receive two sets of recommendations on the MRP Report.
Warehouse groups can also be established that cause MRP Generation to recommend the transfer of inventory from a manufacturing site to a distribution site.
